Therapy, But We Hit Stuff.

When your body feels stuck in survival mode, talking isn't always enough.

This 8-week therapist-led group combines evidence-based DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) skills with trauma-informed, choice-based kickboxing movements to help participants build emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and confidence.

No fitness experience is required. This is not a bootcamp, and you never have to hit anything you don't want to.

Who This Group Is For

This group may be a good fit if you:

  • Feel overwhelmed by intense emotions.

  • Have difficulty managing stress or anger.

  • Want healthier coping skills.

  • Tend to shut down, avoid, or feel emotionally flooded.

  • Learn better by doing rather than just talking.

  • Want to reconnect with your body in a safe, supportive environment.

  • Are looking for an alternative to traditional group therapy.

What a Typical Session Looks Like

Each two-hour session includes:

  • Check-in & grounding

  • DBT skill of the week

  • Guided discussion

  • Warm-up

  • Choice-based kickboxing drills connected to the weekly skill

  • Reflection and processing

  • Take-home practice

Trauma-Informed by Design

Every part of this program is built around choice and nervous system safety.

You'll always have the option to:

  • Observe instead of participate

  • Modify movements

  • Take breaks

  • Use alternative exercises

  • Decline any activity

There is no forced participation, physical contact, or sparring.

What You'll Learn

  • Over eight weeks, participants will practice:

  • Mindfulness in motion

  • Emotional regulation

  • Distress tolerance skills

  • Interpersonal effectiveness

  • Body awareness

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Healthy expression of anger and frustration

  • Building confidence through mastery and repetition

No Fitness Experience Needed

You do not need to:

  • Be athletic

  • Be in shape

  • Know kickboxing

  • Spar with another participant

  • Keep up with anyone else

Everything is adaptable to your body, ability, and comfort level.

Why Kickboxing?

Movement can help our brains process stress differently than conversation alone.

Purposeful, repetitive movement may help participants:

  • Release built-up physical tension

  • Increase awareness of body sensations

  • Practice slowing down before reacting

  • Build confidence through mastery

  • Experience emotions without becoming overwhelmed

The goal isn't to become a fighter.

The goal is to become more connected to yourself.
